My comment is for the Season Four premiere-Lazarus Rising was such a fine episode, not just for a season opener, but in the entire series. It was not as action packed as TheMagnificent Seven, but it sure was epic. It felt as if it was confidentin itself. Unlike TM7, it had great editing, gorgeous lighting, finepacing, better writing, and it had a certain 'tone' to it that made itfeel different than it ever was before(in a good way). It did a perfectjob of introducing Dean all over again, and it was perfect in theaspect that it actually puts us into another cliff hanger, the whole'Angel/God' aspect. Let me tell you, such a different path, but such agreat one. It also set up many new plots. Examples are how Sam hasmastered some new abilities that make him stronger, and how we stillare left in hiding as to how it happened, as well as how Ruby got backwith him, when, why? And of course, the last scene with Dean andCastiel was so perfectly acted, and the lighting definitely was on myeye! I noticed how it had a certain dull, blue, creepy, yet gloomylighting, which makes sense. The actor who played Castiel actedrealistically how an angel would, and I cannot wait to find out hisplan for Dean(any ideas on this?) On a downside, I found the actresswho plays Ruby sort of dull, expressionless, and I know she got a lotof hate last season, but I found Katie Cassidy better, though, however,I hope it changes. I hope we find out what Sam and Ruby will do next? What will Dean's plan be?All in all, one of Supernatural's most perfect episodes, right up therewith In My Time of Dying

You'd think the writers would be running out of ideas after 5 seasonsof coming up with things that go bump in the night, but Supernaturaljust gets more and more compelling. The Two J's get better all the time and have matured into their partswonderfully. The story lines are still as fresh, surprising andunpredictable as ever. (The episode 'Changing Channels' was one of thefunniest, hippest shows I've seen anywhere). This is a show that ishappy to step outside the box and it pays off.The policy of supporting players coming and going is smart and reallyworks for this show by introducing fresh personalities and cutting outthe stale players (and story lines). Getting rid of the tiresome Rubywhen she had (more than) worn out her welcome was a huge boost for theshow, as was the addition of the enigmatic and charismatic Castiel.Misha Collins is a master of dead-pan and has wonderful on-screenchemistry with all the other cast members. I hope he's a keeper -Finding someone like that is a rarity. If I have one qualm it would be that the guys get a bit carried awaywith using gruff, manly-men, Dark Knight voices when having manly-menconversations. It leaves me looking for throat lozenges by the end ofan episode. But that's only a minor quibble.Kudos to Kripke and Co for bringing some good, creepy fun to TV andkeeping it fresh for so long.Long may you reign!

I love Supernatural. I love reading scary books, and I would love scarymovies if they were actually decent. I find myself laughing and not theleast bit scared at scary movies these days. Supernatural, on the otherhand, definitely has a lot of genuinely scary scenes that have made mejump(especially in the first 2 seasons). I'm even afraid to watch italone w/out any lights on! I can't say the same about most horrormovies. The first 2 seasons were very good, the 3rd not so much. I'mglad it got renewed though, because the 4th and 5th seasons have beenvery epic. It's a different spin on the show, but very intriguing. Itstarts to question what is good, what is evil, and different aspects ofreligion. There's also the added plus for many women of having the maincharacters be two hot guys. There are also plenty of attractive womenthat men find attractive.

Supernatural is the worst TV series ever. I have always been a fan ofhorror and thriller movies and TV series. My first thought afterwatching the first episode was, it's gonna be better than X-Files. Thenafter watching two or more episodes i realized it is gonna be awful.Every episode follows the same pattern, It seems to have no sense. Theymeet people daily and paranormal problems existing locally. Seriouslyevery episode is equally boring with the same storyline. There areabsolutely no thrills and frills. The dialogues are bitterly awful. Each and every episode , they find out about a ghost or something ,they do a little research talking to people and the episode ends upwith them burning a dead body, or using salt or some dumb action andthe episode ends. There not even a pinch of thrill, suspense or horror.I never enjoy watching it, Very boring

Recently i had given up with TV, but i heard about this and my hopesshot up. Being the keen movie fan that i am i have watched a vastcollection of horror films and this most certainly live up to thegenres well deserved name. The story is about two brothers who hunt supernatural creatures, thispretty basic plot line allows for a vast variety of things that areable to happen within the programme. Each episode, apart from the oddfew, has a new creature for the boys to deal with (althought there is acontinuous plot running underneath). This allows for new scenery, characters and problems to be introduced meaning that you'll never bebored. The actors and actresses play their parts perfectly and eachmonster is designed carefully down to the smallest detail so that itseems very realistic. i would recommend this to any horror fans orpeople who are looking for a quality piece of television.

It's a mini horror movie every week. Supernatural brings American urbanlegends into your home each episode. All those stories you told aroundthe campfire as a child come to life in this explosive TV show. Fromthe exceptional writing to the awesome soundtrack, this TV show is astep above the rest. I love seeing the dynamic between the brothers,Sam and Dean. It seems that no matter what has happened in the past, family is family. I imagine this show is a production nightmare. Thereare so many great special effects, it's like being at your localcinema. And you can't forget that car. A '67 Impala that the brotherstravel the country in. With the classic rock tunes blaring on thecassette player and the roar of the engine, this car is hot! Overall, Ithink Supernatural is one of the best shows on TV. My only concern isthem running out of good material. I mean there are only so many urbanlegends. However, I've heard they've got the first 3 seasons prettymuch mapped out, so at least we can have a few good years, right.

A great show that makes up for the loss of a number of greats. The TVseemed incredibly dull following the loss of x-files, Buffy, angel anddark angel. Only Charmed remained and lets face it thats really notbeen up to it's one brilliant standard. The supernatural (no punintended) and sci-fi fans were running out of things to watch.Thankfully along came Supernatural. It has the x-files mystery to it , with the hot young characters ofBuffy and Angel, with the emotional curiosity edge of Dark Angel allmixed together. The acting and the writing is spot on. The show has theperfect balance of supernatural and relationship elements.Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have finally escaped they'resupporting roles they so brilliantly performed in Gilmore Girls andDark Angel. They get to prove how well they can act and play thebrothers brilliantly. The show has started great and will no doubtbecome another cult classic, lets hope it gets a number of seasons togive it the credit it deserves. It's definitely one to watch and Icertainly recommend it to all fans of any of the above shows.

If the first 2/3 of season 1 did not really deserved lot of attention(the series was alright, but nothing exceptional), it has progressivelyimproved until becoming one of the best show around. I can just thinkof Season 1 final scene as one of the best cliffhanger ever. Thestoryline is great and superbly written, the two main characters areboth enjoyable and realistic (as far as you can be realistic in thegenre chosen by the series) there is a lot of action, horror and guns(that's for male viewers), but also family concerns, emotions andsometimes love and crying (that's for female viewers). Add loads ofhumor, great soundtrack, good FX and the coolest car ever, and thereyou have everyone happy. Oh, and I was about to forget: 2 wonderfulactors as leads. Jared Padalecki excels in portraying Sam, and hisevolution along the seasons, but I have to admit that Jensen Ackles isjust STUNNING. He really made the character that Dean Winchester isnow. Seriously, this guy should at least be nominated for an Emmyaward, just watch "On the head of a Pin (4x16)" or "The End (5x04)" andyou'll get my point. And the writers are fortunate to have such anactor. Unfortunately, despite all this awesomeness, genre shows likethat are most of the time overlooked, and Supernatural is notrecognized as it should be...too bad, 'cause it's really a frigginggreat show!!!

i heard of "Supernatural" a few times but i never actually watched it.i just started watching it a few weeks ago and i must say i was hooked.Jared Padalecki (Sam Wincester) and Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) aregreat in this show. It kinda reminded of old school "Charmed" mixedwith the "X-Files". Whats great about that show is that its also inways easy to catch up because there's really only two main charactersits easy to get into. It has non-stop action and mystery and it justgets you hooked. The acting is great and the characters have so muchdepth and history. This is a great show and i hope it lasts a lot moreseasons. i give it a 9/10.

Since 'Angel' was cancelled prematurely in 2004, there has been nothingto fill the horror/supernatural slot in the world of TV (nothing ofworth, anyway). So, it was like a breath of fresh air to fans of theparanormal when 'Supernatural' came along with the potential to rivaleven old favourites 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel'.The show centres on Dean and Sam Winchester, brothers who lost theirmother in demonic circumstances when they were aged four years old andsix months old respectively and lost their childhoods to their father'sdetermination to pursue supernatural forces even if that meant raisinghis sons like warriors rather than children. Twenty-two years on, Deancontinues his father's fight while Sam has opted for a 'normal' life atuniversity. However, the supernatural is not finished with theWinchester family and when the brothers' father disappears, they gosearching for him, hunting down any demon/paranormal creature they bumpinto along the way.Jensen Ackles is cast as Dean, the elder brother who may sport a cocky,devil-may-care attitude outwardly but beneath the surface is very needyand emotionally vulnerable thanks to his almost neglectful upbringingand precarious bond with his father while Jared Padalecki plays youngerbrother Sam, depicting the character's determination for both normalityand revenge as well as his deep love for his elder brother whopractically raised him. Both young men are excellent in portraying thedeeper nuances to their roles so the characters are solid andthree-dimensional but they also provide some nice eye candy for femalefans! One of the strongest points about 'Supernatural' is it walks a nicebalance between showing one-off episodes, covering story lines thanrange from quirky to rather dark and moody, and depicting episodes thatbegin to develop a mythology to the show so it becomes apparent to morediscerning viewers that it was no coincidence the Winchester mother wasmurdered. It reminds me very much of 'The X-Files' in the earlierseasons before it become bogged down with boring conspiracies(hopefully, 'Supernatural' will avoid that pitfall).Given the quality of the show even from its first season, I imagine itwill hopefully be on our screens for a good few years to come. It'sdefinitely a must for those who love being spooked as well as fans ofurban legends and ghost stories as well as those who wish to relive thegood old days of 'Buffy' and 'Angel'.

I think supernatural is getting bad to worse. it started out OK, quiteinteresting, and I think it's funny. season 3 is the climax as it isreally funny with hot ruby and scary Lilith. now, ever since season 4,this show sucks. Firstly, they made ruby an evil bitch. why can't therebe a good demon? if angels are bad, then demons could be good.Secondly, angels are portrayed as weak, evil bastards who torturepeople. And since when do they lose to devils, and need to get avessel? they are supposed to be all powerful, and can just materializein whatever they like. according to the bible, I recall that someangels masquerade as men to warn lot to get out of Gomorrah orsomething. and all angels are supposed to have seen God at least a fewtimes a year. Come on, Seraphs or Powers are supposed to sing God'spraises around his throne 24/7, surely God will be sitting there?? Youcan check this out in wiki. thirdly, why is dean saved? he is NOT agood guy. he always sleep with women, fight, curse etc. definitely notan angel. even Sam is a better choice. fourthly, humans cannot BECOMEdemons, just like they can't BECOME angels. They are just humans.Demons are FALLEN ANGELS, so Lucifer is already not an angel. Sure, some demonic offspring, like giants, can be demon, I guess. Checked itin wikipedia. And I guessed that Antichrist, he is powerful, but notenough to turn castiel into a toy. fifthly, why is dean such a dick?just accept to be Michael's vessel! assuming I believe SPN's "lore", heshould do it for the greater good. Did he think he could take onLucifer alone? Dream on! can SPN stop that angels and demons crap? Isigned on to watch horror, ghosts, and zombies, not God and theology. The only good stuff is Dean's looks, hot chicks, cool special effects, and (occasionally) funny moments.

This show is so close to be being good, it's painful. It honestly hasmoments of genuine fear, excitement and all-round entertainment. Theonly problem is its huge lack of originality.Phantom Traveler is the best example of this. Essentially a planecrashes due to an evil force but a few survive the disaster. The evilforce demands that there be no survivors however and attempts to killthe others to ensure this. For the whole episode I wasn't sure if I waswatching Supernatural or Final Destination. Except Final Destinationwas far better.Bloody Mary suffers from the same chronic lack of imagination. It hasanother identikit young girl with the expected black ragged hair who'ssuffered a terrible incident and takes the lives of others as revenge. All the features seen in the Ring and it even has her come out of themirror, which is an unashamed rip-off of the Ring's most freakiestmoment - her coming out of the TV screen. Also, where is the director during these episodes?! At one point, awoman in her house shouts at them to get of her house but she runsupstairs before they even begin to leave. Why on earth would she leavea bunch of suspicious looking strangers in her house alone when she hadscreamed at them to leave. Little moments like this often ruin thecarefully built up atmosphere due to some sloppy directing. But aside from this, it can be very exciting and scary in places andthe production values, especially the gorgeous lighting, deservetremendous praise. The acting is generally of a high quality and thescripts can sometimes throw up a funny line that'll make you chuckle.Overall, it is a huge disappointment (how many horror TV shows arethere now-a-days?) but there are a lot worse ways to spend an hour.

I love the show, i think that it is fantasatic! i love thesupernatural/horror/thriller genre and i have been waiting for a goodquality TV show that fits this genre to come along and its finallyhere! The two brothers, the cute good boy and the hot bad boy, travelaround America in search of the supernatural. trying to track down thebeast that killed there mother many years ago they encounter manyexciting unfathomable monsters and also come across some of the classicurban legends. The two brothers are fantastically casted to complimenteach other and are a fantastic on screen pair. i would highly recommendthis on the edge of your seat TV show if you have a love for thesupernatural or even if you just like to watch Jared and Jenssen dothere thing on screen!

which in this case,is a good thing.this show just keeps getting betterand better each episode.if that trend continues,Supernatural should beon the air for years to come.not only are the stories compelling, butthe acting is first rate thanks to Jared Padalecki and JensonAckles, who play brothers Sam and Dean Winchester.their characters arealso well developed and very sympathetic.the writing is also verystrong, with some very good dialogue, including some decent humorousmoments to lighten the mood,as the show is very dark.if you're a fan ofBuffy the Vampire Slayer,Charmed,and/or X-files,you should like thisshow,as it is a mix of those three shows.for me,Supernatural is a 9/10

I didn't watch Supernatural at first. I dismissed it as yet another WBseries; a show that would be decent, but unexceptional. That, friends, was a huge mistake. Supernatural is not just exceptional, but isprobably one of the best shows out there. The world of the series is our own, just a little darker. Ghosts,life-draining monsters and all manner of aberrant horrors lurk in theshadows, and the weapons we know are useless against them. Enter theWinchester brothers: Dean and Sam. They travel the country, huntingdown the paranormal horrors that decimated their family twenty-twoyears ago, and hoping to spare others the same tragedy.Every episode is mysterious and suspenseful, and the scripts arewell-written and thought-out. However, the best attribute of the seriesby far is the back-and-forth between the two stars. Ackles andPadalecki have the kind of chemistry that siblings everywhere willrecognize. They trade one-liners during their adventures, arguefiercely at times, and are willing to do anything to protect eachother. The special effects, set design and (as I mentioned before) writing areall top notch, the creatures are frightening and brilliantlyaccomplished, and the laid-back attitude of the two heroes keeps youamused throughout the show. The only thing that kept me from awardingthe series 10 out of 10 is that the darker tone of some of the episodessometimes takes away from the characters just being brothers. Thathaving been said, 9 out of 10 ain't bad at all. Supernatural is wellworth your viewing time.

Supernatural is an impressive piece of work. I just finished watchingall five seasons. I like so many elements of this show and I am happythat it's had success as a series for five years. The parts that makethis show work are the story premise, the characters chosen, therelationships portrayed, the stylized direction and general creativity. The beginning was very reminiscent of The X Files, a show I adored andof course the makers of the show were from X files time. Although itfelt like certain episodes could easily have been an FBI case handledby Scully and Moulder, there was an unlimited element of where thestory could go because it was two brothers trying to save the day. Idon't think there are many TV shows that portray the male bondingexperience in this specific way. The fact that a TV series portray adifferent type of hero in each brother is unique in contrast to popularculture right now (ie, Twilight). The simplicity of this sustains a TVseries and gives a good story without too much of an ensemble cast plotline (ie, Lost, Heroes). The acting of the two leads gets better as theseasons roll on. The creativity really shines when lighter topics areshown (the trickster episodes, A Very Special Christmas) andinteresting philosophies are roll off from the dialogue spoken (Hammerof the Gods). As we get knee deep in the myth arc of the series we get a whole takeon the angel, demon, God, Devil mythology which is a logical step fromsupernatural creatures hunted (kind of answers its own questions abouthow all that is supernatural was created in the first place) and it isinteresting to watch with the end of the world on everyone's mind. There was a lot of humor thrown in with a great balance of action anddrama in the mix. Supernatural is fun to watch, it never failed to entertain me or keepmy attention. It kept my eyes glued to the TV with the attractive men, convincing performances, funny dialogue, rock music, and spookystories.

Its written wonderfully, its funny but has horror in it. Its great andlike no other. A must watch show!!! And both Jensen and Jared are doinga great job making this show good,I don't think it would of been thesame without them. I cant wait for season 2... I hope I wouldn't bedisappointed and that it would be just as great as the first season. myfavorite actor of the show is Jensen Ackles, his super great!!! andmost of the funny lines are his, he makes the show different from allthe others. When i first watched he show I thought it was going to belike "buffy the vampire slayer", so it surprised my to find out its alot better=]

Much as I liked Buffy, and Angel, and Smallville, and XFiles, I likeSupernatural for a few simple reasons, specifically because I'vewatched the other shows. The main characters aren't in high school forone thing. Most of the characteristics I like can be drawn back to thatone fairly easily. The fact they're 22 & 26, and male, means that these characters canswear. They can get laid. Not every girl they see has "first kiss"lovey-dovey built in. They can go to jail without their parents beingcalled. They don't have deadlines in assignments to meet. They candrive. They can drink. And they can get hurt without hiding the factfrom all their friends.Halleluja! If I wanted to see more of the same, there's 7 seasons ofBuffy, 5 of Angel, 5 of Smallville, and dozens of other examples Icould go to. This is new, with the action I'd expect, without theXFile's restrictive regulations imposed on the characters due to theirjobs. (Which I also like - but who doesn't?) Throw caution to the wind!I like that it's two brothers driving around, not girls beinginsightful or oh-so-smart or chick-flicky or even empoweredBuffy-style. I like action films, and thrillers, and sci-fi, andhorror, and comedy, and this show's got a little bit of everything.Don't expect high art here, it's just a bit of good fun, entertaining. And I dunno about you, but I'm watching these shows to be entertained, not find out the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. (42 bythe way ;] ) I'd suggest you sit back, watch a few episodes, and see ifyou agree. If not, don't watch anymore :P

Is a good show with potential to be better if given a chance. Thecharacters definitely play well against each other, there's goodchemistry there. The idea of taking urban legends and myths of smalltowns is well done, and with a little more effort from the writers, this show could become top notch. The actors are very good, and thescenes are pretty authentic. The story of two brothers in search of their father, in search ofmonsters/ghosts and things that go bump in the night, and at the sametime in search of themselves is a good ploy. Not to mention, these guyshaven't seen each other for years and now need to do some catch up. Youcan sense the different worlds they grew up in, as sometimes they havea difficult time in relating to each other. One will mention somethingthat will totally go over the other's head. Different pasts.Supernatural is definitely not a time waster, and a heck of a lotbetter than most of the shows on TV right now.

I saw the pilot last night and was very happy with the production team.David Nutter, who was involved on the X-Files- hence givingSupernatural that "X-Files-ish tone" is a fantastic director. He is aveteran of this field having directed X-Files, Roswell, Dark Angel,Smallville, Disturbing Behavior, Millennium, etc. One of the producers,McG, has produced The OC, and has directed both Charlie's Angelsmovies. Jared and Jensen are placed in roles they are familiar with,Jared is playing Sam, a character who seems to be a tougher version ofDean, his character from the Gilmore Girls. Jensen is playing Dean, acharacter who is extremely close to being a human clone of hissarcastic character from Dark Angel, Alec. Opening a WB show with suchgreat effects scores big with me- not giving anything away, the specialeffects are what Nutter and his team are capable of. Sarah Shahi as aguest star was icing on the cake. The only problem I see with the showis the fact that it is not geared towards the main demographic of theOC and Gilmore Girls (which airs in the time slot before Supernatural)and it may turn away a group of older viewers who may really enjoy it.As long as they don't call it the "teen X-Files" or "Buffy meets TwinPeaks" it will be fine. Trying to make Roswell be the next "Buffy"ruined the show, and it would be a shame to ruin Supernatural.
