This series owes much to earlier The Librarian made for TV movies aswell as Friday the 13th: The Series. Still, it is a notable step abovemuch of the current SyFy Channel fare. I found season two to be anotable improvement over season one, which wasn't bad but was sometimes a bit slow/stodgy. I found some of the plot lines not reallygreat but still acceptable. The dialog throughout both seasons iscrisp, the characters engaging and the pacing is upbeat. Characterdevelopment doesn't get in the way of action. The guest stars, JaimeMurray in particular, were given well-scripted roles and well cast. Iactually hope Warehous 13 is renewed.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) We watch these dvds over an over again. It comes with three and the only fault I can find is that the packaging separated. It comes in a slender covering case. Inside the case comes the package. There is a cardboard outer with a the printing and the interior is hard plastic holders for each of the three dvds. The plastic has separated from the cardboard making it harder to slip into the case. Only complaint.

Artie's character has more of a human quality and fun to watch. TheWarehouse team is a family. He interacts with the cast as an olderuncle/father figure with flaws but being intuitively right most thetime. Mrs. Frederick has a mystery that tricks our minds to learningwhat she is about. Unlike the Fringe, John Noble is psychopathic jerk who as no remorsewith his experimentation and very little emotion for the cast orhelping society. His history is a mystery no one cares to solve. Therest of the cast are 2-D characters that never changes. They showdwells on their past so often you basically get nowhere after everyepisode. It plain, boring, and digging its own grave right now. Plus as a fanatic about history, Warehouse 13 is a countlessly tributeto myths, legends, famous inventors, infamous theories, iconiccharacters, popular literature; WORLD HISTORY. It also a salute towarda fairly diminishing culture; Steampunk. Its Steampuck's biggestrevival since Hellboy films. I hate to compare shows but this screams competition. Fringe's pilotcost ten million dollars; loaded with publicity and the show isn'tnearly as worth wild. Warehouse 13 and SyFy shows you content wins overcost. The show pays for itself and brings viewers in. It's prettyexciting to watch the characters. The warehouse itself is a characterand adventure. It has been growing a little gimmicky lately but forit's first season is on a great start. The pieces are coming togetherreally quickly. I'm excited to watch the next seasons and its newadventures. Shout out to the cast if your reading this. I love you guys and girls.Keep up the great work. Awesome.

The idea of artifacts with special powers had already been put into asuccessful film - Syfy brilliant miniseries "The Lost Room" in 2006.Fans like myself were thrilled to hear that a new series -warehouse 13-would pick up the idea and develop it into a longer show. and I havebeen following warehouse 13 since then. The series, sadly, disappointed me though. The story has so muchpotential. It could have been a fascinating show, better than law andorder, the x-files, or CSI. However it was done so lamely that Canada'sCityTV dropped it in the second season, and no one even noticed! Thefirst problem is the cast. While the cast of the Lost Room were solid, believable and fully in character, the cast of warehouse 13 are justout of place. Their act is almost comic. It is so hard to take Myka,Pete, Artie and Claudia seriously because they look and act nowherelike what their roles are.The show's poor character development doesn't help either. Allcharacters have too much comical traits to be taken seriously. And theyall are so one-dimensional. This show was supposed to be about thefascinating world of strange historical artifacts with magic powers, and the writers have reduced it to ridiculous comic stories played by agroup of circus clowns. The background stories are not helpful. McPherson's story was the onlyrelevant one, but the stories of Mrs. Fredric, Claudia and H.G. Wellsjust distract the audience.I still watch warehouse 13; just because I loved "the Lost Room", andperhaps because there isn't much more to do on Friday nights (when itis aired in Canada). However I am so disappointed. Such a great story,so much potential, are wasted because of bad writing.

Having heard about this series a few times, and then more recently acomparison regarding it and Stargate Universe (re the fact that W13pulled better ratings), I decided to give the pilot episode a viewing. There haven't really been many sci-fi/fantasy shows (ever) that haven'theld my attention and appealed to my nerdy requirements, and whilst Iwas keeping an open mind, I struggled to keep watching the full 90minute double episode. The lead actors (McClintock and Kelly) just didn't quite "do it" forme... they were kind of interesting characters, but ultimately neithermade me passionate to continue. One of the reasons I didn't switch offearly was Raul Subinek, who I've enjoyed since ST:TNG days, but evenhis always interesting portrayal isn't enough to convince me to watchany further. The premise is interesting, though the idea of having a massivewarehouse full of deadly "oddities", yet only 1 person on hand to dealwith them, is absurd. Whilst I'm sure some story arcs develop over theseason, I can see a lot of Reaper-like-repetition ahead, which alsodoesn't interest me.The special effects were also rather disappointing. About on par withReaper or Merlin, which in those shows is acceptable, as they are morecomedy than drama. I don't know if it was deliberate or accidental, butsome shots left my eyes hurting (eg external of the Warehouse). The direct comparison for me would be The Lost Room, which I thinkoffered a lot more promise than this pilot. I felt too much likeLattimer and Bering's characters were being force fed to me, ratherthan a real natural progression. Whereas in Lost Room, everything wasleft that bit more confusing and unanswered; more for the journey.

I picked up this series a few weeks ago, and really enjoyed rewatching this season again, after just watching the second season. Now, when I watch the secnd season over again this series will get even better. All of the characters are great together and the chemisrty between them is fantastic. Artie, is the perfect leader for this crew, Mrs. Fredricks, gets even more complicated with every episode. Pete, and Myka, they are a whole show on they're own. Though, I don't agree that Pete is total screw-up, as a few reviewers have mentioned, although, to me his character is still developing. His cookie fetish, and his somewhat childish sayings are just part of himself that he is protecting himself from others. I also think that a whole new side of him will be coming out in future episodes. I had a problem with Claudia at the beginging, but I like her as well, though not sure about Lida, the Houskeeper at the house, future episodes will tell. I loved all the episodes but especially blowout ending on the last episode. Eagerly awaiting for the second season on DVD. And especially waiting for the third season on SYFY this coming summer. If your looking for an exciting new series to watch give this series a try, you might just get hooked.

I love the show, a lot of the reviews are calling it a copy or arip-off but what show now comes with complete originality. The fact isthere is no other show like this right now and its very fun. Can't waitfor the next episode. I like the fact that you get where the show isgoing, and yes because it is familiar. More like a warm friendlyfamiliar then a I can tell you what the next episode is going to befamiliar. I appreciate the show. Not the most original but I love thecharacters and none of them have an emotional problems so it makes themeasier to understand. Most people would agree its a fresh get-a-wayfrom the large amount of reality shows we have now.

I enjoy this show and my husband watches it with me. I am always looking for new sci fi shows. I really like the Dresden Files but that was only one season. Another of my favorites is Sanctuary.

When I first saw trailers for this series I thought it was going to be'X-Files lite' but thought I'd give it a go anyway. I'm glad I did asit is quite different, the only real similarity is that both featuretwo agents, one female, one male who are investigated strange goingson. There are no signs of aliens however here they are trying torecover various artefacts which are some how imbued with strangepowers. The leading characters are Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering, twosecret service agents who wind themselves transferred to a remotewarehouse in South Dakota. Here they are met by Artie Nielsen, the manwho runs the place, he explains that it will be their job to retrievethe mystical artefacts and to return them to the warehouse. Earlyepisodes concentrate on them retrieving an artefact each week but latera plot arc starts featuring former warehouse agent MacPherson who istrying to get his hands on the artefacts for his own personal reasons. While the series wasn't quite what I expected I found myself reallyenjoying it. While it is never particularly serious there are manytimes when there is a sense of danger and a few where it even looks asif a character might be written out. Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kellydo good jobs as Pete and Myka but it is Saul Rubinek who steals theshow as Artie. I was also very impressed by Allison Scagliotti'sportrayal of Claudia, the young computer expert who joins the seriesafter a few episodes, I was really surprised to learn that she wasstill in her teens. The stories are fun and the main characters arelikable and in some cases a little bit mysterious. The only slightweakness is that a lot of the CGI is very obvious, it didn't spoil myenjoyment though. The final episode leaves things more mysterious thanever; setting things up nicely for the second season; I hope we don'thave to wait too long before it airs here as I want to know whathappens next.

What a surprising little gem Warehouse 13 has turned out to be. I feelthe creative team in control have only just begun tapping into thealmost limitless supply of stories available to them with this crackingpremise they have conjured. Not surprising really as one of the show'screators is Jane Espenson who wrote some of the best and funniest ofJoss Whedon's episodes for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly. In Warehouse 13, two agents find themselves in charge of a top secretwarehouse that holds some of the worlds most troublesome and in manycases dangerous objects collected over time. Teamed with the curator ofWarehouse 13 and an enigmatic local bed and breakfast owner, the twoagents scour the world looking to retrieve, find, and trap the worldsmost unique objects, in the hope of safeguarding the planet. Will thisbe in vane or will they indeed maintain a long time, century's oldequilibrium? We can only wait and see.The fun part of this show is most assuredly with the two leads MykaBering (Joanne Kelly) and Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock) who have awonderfully playful relationship with each other without thecomplications of a 'Will they won't they?' subtext. Surrounded withenough warehouse curiosities that allow for humour, wonderment andprofound seriousness the show holds it's own with many in the samegenre and while the show is still in it's infancy I feel it hasestablished a solid enough first season to warrant a follow up.That said with the amount of high concept TV out there, Warehouse 13will probably have to tread more serious ground for the next season, and perhaps inject a more maturing seasonal arc if it is to sustainitself for a longer run on network television. While I enjoyed the first season I will say there was little tensionand certainly the sense of danger to the characters was never quiterealised enough for me to worry about anyone or the predicaments theyfound themselves in. However the number of clever and quirky objectsconceived by the writers to further the narrative was fascinating andalways a delight. All told this sits very nicely with shows like Eureka, Reaper and theearlier seasons of Supernatural.Looking forward to Season Two.

This is really shallow, silly, absurd, did I mention "shallow" show? This is just fanciful nonsense mixed with sci-fi stuff and is scatterbrained with ridiculous humor that makes little sense. One example iswhere there is a sword fight, and after wards a male character startsmaking guesses about various things, and then says, "Holy Grail"? Andthe person he is talking to says nothing and the male characterreplies, "Yes" with confidence. I won't spoil it, but if you watch thatpart, it makes no sense and at the very least, is just dumb humor, nothing funny about it. It's like watching some stupid daytime teenhigh school comedy only mixed up with power ranger special effects andbabble, but a little more mature and less hysterical and devoid of anyhotties, no offense to the main female actor...

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) This DVD is different, with good story lines, for a Sci-Fi buff, but not quite good enough to excuse the lame acting, and garbled storyline that tends to confuse the issue with irrelevancies. The lead guy is annoying. Nothing else can describe him, he is childish, petty minded and annoying. The lead girl is better, but not much. The quality of script leaves a lot to be desired - some of the lines make the actors seem very poor, but they can't be as bad as they appear in some scenes - nobody would employ them if they were, so the script is pretty lame at times. If you are a young teenager, this show might appeal, but an old guy like me will not be buying any other seasons.

With spectacular special effects, worthy of the storyline, UniversalCable Productions with Universal Media Studios' ~UMS~, creators',Messrs. Jane Espenson, D. Brent Mote, "Warehouse 13" always leaves meeager for another helping of the next sparkling episode. The dose ofmystery, the misadventures of the youthful Claudia Donovan ~AllisonScagliotti~, the heroes lending their own expertise to solve each casetake us through various characters of American/ world history notunlike the movie "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" ~2004, directorJon Turteltaub, Walt Disney Pictures, Jerry Bruckheimer Films~, thusensuring every episode worthy of much discussion in a History classwith due note to the often satirical references. Definitely familyviewing well on it's way to cult status for fans, like me, of themagical "Twilight Zone" ~1959, creator Rod Serling, Cayuga-CBS,twilight? very nearly, the genius Claudia is a former patient of amental hospital, that says enough about the show, for new viewers~.Don't miss it!

A Mulder and Scully-type duo retrieves a series of dangerous objectsand deposits them in a government warehouse in South Dakota. That's thepremise of this Canadian-lensed series, which is sprinkled with muchhumor and the occasional suspenseful situation. The warehouse isoverseen by a quirky little man played by veteran character actor SaulRubinek, who is delightful. He also gives the pair their weeklymarching orders. The pilot took the two to Iowa to track down an oldItalian book that apparently sparks homicidal tendencies in otherwisenormal folks. The Mulder character is played by an Eddie McClintock, afamiliar TV actor who could pass for the twin brother of FBI agentSeeley Booth from BONES. The gal playing the Scully character, JoanneKelly, is your generic, model-thin female who lacks Scully's gravitasand looks like a million other TV actresses. But that's OK because theshow, which also has its roots in the old Friday THE 13TH TV series aswell as RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, is lots of fun and not to be taken tooseriously. I think it has enough gas to run for at least two or threeseasons. The show very much reminds me of EUREKA, which I believe comesfrom the same production group.

This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) An excellent series that allows you to mix reality with fiction. Who know what the US government and other nations have deep in their vaults. Many have been searching for the unusual for centuries...why do we not think they may found some of what we see on these dvds

I'm normally one to be picky about TV shows, especially with syfy, however I have never seen such fantastic chemistry in a show amongcharacters. Syfy has been doing great things lately and this show isdefinitely one I hope to stick around. Eureka is equally amazing butthe story in Warehouse 13 is developing wonderfully and the characterswork so well together I love seeing them every week in their newadventure. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a show so much and Ihope to see this show survive the years with more seasons(especiallywith the way shows have been disappearing). I would suggest this showto anyone with an open mind and a slight nerdy love for history. Itputs a fantastic twist on common knowledge and well when it comes downto it the way to two main characters interact is simply put... cute.Good luck to this show and kudos and congrats to the entire cast andwriting crew for a great show and amazing talent at it's best. keep itup!

I was hoping this would be a cool science fiction series but I've watched 3 episodes so far and don't think I want to watch the rest. I'm not sure if it's the actors or the characters or the writing or a combination of all of the above, but there is nothing endearing about the main characters. There is nothing that makes you want to root for them to succeed. The stories are bland, the main characters are irritating, and there is nothing that pulls you in. It's really too bad because the actual premise of the series (strange supernatural powers of ancient artifacts) is cool, but the stories produced through that premise pretty much suck. But that's just one person's opinion. Plenty of other people seem to like the show. I'd much rather watch something like Fringe, with characters you cheer for and stories that are interesting and exciting. I gave it two stars just because Saul Rubinek is a good actor and he was given the only interesting character to play. Otherwise, I'd give it no stars if that were an option.
